Samsung has just announced their first 256GB solid-state drive. This new 256GB SSD is using the latest multi-level cell (MLC) techonlogy from Samsung that gives faster transfer rate and lower cost in production compared to the previous SSDs. It has speeds of 200MBps sequential read and 160MBps write. Also, it’s packed in the thinnest chassis with 0.37-inch according to Samsung. No words on a price for it yet but Samsung will be shipping them to its clients by the end of this year for both 2.5-inch and 1.8-inch flavors.
